When it comes to local code compliance, IPS™ is routinely viewed by code officials as an innovative application using traditional or standard practices. All components for IPS™ are UL and CSA approved as the system’s uniqueness is derived from matching approved components. Potable water for domestic use and water for heating and cooling with IPS remain 100% isolated from non-potable devices.
Since IPS™ is a domestic water system, no water treatment is necessary. Fresh water is introduced to the system daily. The IPS™ terminal unit is equipped with a circuit board that opens the heating and cooling valve every 24 hours to eliminate stagnation. A water softener may be added for protection to equipment if the engineer deems appropriate.
IPS™ is designed by local engineers to local codes and installed by local mechanicals to local specification. Williams Applied Products offers a design-assist program to serve local engineers. Williams will also contact local code officials and verify local compliance upon request.
